Twenty new cases of #COVID19 have been reported POSTED BY  CHIDOZIE O.  ON APRIL 13, 2020 In the latest update of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, fourteen new cases have been reported as of Monday evening, April 13th by the National Centre for Disease Control. In a new update on their Twitter page, the NCDC reports that there’s seventeen new cases in Lagos, Edo, Kano, Ogun and Ondo. The baby, Erin Bates, nicknamed ‘miracle baby’ is now on an oxygen machine as she has struggling with windpipe problems since birth. Born weighing just 5lbs 4oz, and after months of treatment her parents felt she stood a good chance of recovery but on Friday a diagnosis of Covid-19 was confirmed. Two teenagers drown in Lagos while swimming during Coronavirus lockdown POSTED BY  CHIDOZIE O.  ON APRIL 13, 2020 Two male teenagers are alleged to have drowned in Lagos while swimming in a beach in their community during the COVID-19 lockdown. The victims Dare, 16, and Fawas, 15 are both residents of Epelemeje Orofun community in Akodo area of Ibeju-Lekki in Lagos State. Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, disclosed this on Sunday in a statement he released to journalists. Elkana also said that some members of the community reported the matter through a distress call to the Ibeju-Lekki Divisional Police Station on Saturday. The spokesman added that the State Police Command had deployed its Marine Police Team to the area for search and rescue. He said that the command was awaiting the report of the team. “The command advises parents to monitor their children and ensure that they remain at home during this lockdown period,” DSP Elkana said.
