A young black man is fortunate to be alive after he was badly injured in a hit and run crash. The Federal Government has said Secondary schools in the country will reopen on August 4, 2020 for pupils in exit classes to sit for their examination. The government said students will have two weeks to prepare for the West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination organised by the West Africa Examination Council. WAEC exams, the government said will commence on 17th of August, 2020. The government announced the decision at the end of a virtual consultative meeting between the Federal Ministry of Education, Commissioners of Education of the 36 states, the Nigerian Union of Teachers, (NUT), the proprietors of private schools, and Chief Executives of examination bodies. The acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei, fainted on Monday during an investigative hearing at the National Assembly. Pondei collapsed where he was seated as members of the House Committee on NDDC grilled him. The committee had grilled him for about 45 minutes before he passed out. Pondei has been rushed out of the Conference Room 231, venue of the investigative hearing on illegal spending and mismanagement of funds in the commission. The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, however, stayed behind. Members of the committee are still debating whether to suspend the hearing or not. A Nigerian doctor, Urey, who just passed out from National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, on Thursday, July 16th, has died. Urey NYSC dead According to report, Urey who was a 2019 Batch B stream 2 corper, was involved in a fatal accident at Onne, Rivers state, on her way returning back home.
